Visits to the Dentist
How often should I go to the dentist?
Regular visits to the dentist are essential in maintaining oral hygiene. You may say to yourself, “I brush and floss everyday, I don’t need to go to the dentist” but, there are problems you may not see or feel that only a dentist can identify before reaching damaging stages.
The dentists and dental hygienists of Columbia Falls Family Dental Center are dedicated to eliminating problems before they reach a destructive phase. We would love to see our patients every couple weeks but we know certain people should come in more and less frequently than others.
So, how often should you see a dentist? Seeing a dentist twice a year works well for the vast majority of people. Some people may be fine with fewer visits and some need more. People with a high risk of dental disease might need to visit every three or four months, or more. This high-risk group includes:
Smokers
Diabetics
People with current gum disease
People with a weak immune response to bacterial infection
People who tend to get cavities or build up plaque
Our Columbia Falls dentists are happy to help you decide how often you should be visiting the dentistry and always have your best interest in mind. Want to know more? Visit or call the Columbia Falls Family Center today!
